  • What safety tips should I know?

There is usually a breeze along the coastline, which often makes it seem as if you are not getting sunburn. Make sure you wear plenty of sun cream and always carry a water bottle with you.

Never swim alone and only enter the water if an on-duty lifeguard is present.

  • Which areas should I take more care?

Take extra care around the train station and back streets away from the shopping streets especially at night.

  • What are the common crimes?

    Pick pocketing

A common crime for tourists is pick pocketing, watch your belongings when in busy areas but also on the beach, keep an eye on your bags at all times and leave valuables in your accommodation.

    Scams

Scams are also common, people asking for money in exchange for worthless items. Firmly say no and most people get the message.
